Body Radiofrequency in Nerja

Deep heat that stimulates collagen, firms the skin and improves cellulite, with no pain or downtime.

01

What is body radiofrequency?

Body radiofrequency is a non-invasive treatment that delivers energy into the tissues and turns it into controlled heat. That heat tightens the collagen fibres straight away and, session by session, stimulates the fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin; it also boosts circulation, drainage and fat metabolism. The result is firmer, smoother, more even skin and a better-defined contour, with no needles, no surgery and no downtime.

At Sole Centro de Imagen we work with two complementary technologies: Indiba®, the Spanish 448 kHz radiofrequency that works in depth with its capacitive and resistive modes, and Viora, which combines radiofrequency at three frequencies with vacuum. Both have the same price: at your assessment we choose the one that best suits the area and your goal, and sometimes we alternate them within the same programme.

It can be used on the abdomen, waist and flanks, buttocks, thighs, saddlebags, inner knees, arms, back, bust and décolletage, for women and men.

What the studies say

Indiba has been researching its radiofrequency since 1983. According to the manufacturer, a team at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid (Dr Úbeda) studied what happens to cells at 448 kHz: it stimulates stem cell proliferation and does not damage healthy cells. Viora, for its part, showed in in-vivo studies that the depth of the heat is controlled by the chosen frequency and that vacuum helps it penetrate further. These are manufacturers' data; each person's result depends on their skin, their body and their consistency. Depending on the temperature reached in the tissue, Indiba describes three effects:

  • Biostimulation (no noticeable heat): activates the cells' natural regeneration processes

  • Vascularisation (moderate heat): dilates the vessels, increases the supply of blood and oxygen and promotes drainage

  • Hyperactivation (intense heat): speeds up metabolism, helps mobilise fat deposits and stimulates collagen

  • In the before-and-after cases published by Indiba, cellulite changes with 3 to 7 sessions and localised fat with 8 to 10

04

Indiba and Viora: what is the difference?

Both are radiofrequency and both stimulate collagen, but they reach the tissue in different ways. That is why we choose one or the other case by case:

  • Indiba® works at a stable frequency of 448 kHz with two modes: capacitive, for the skin and superficial tissues, and resistive, for deeper, denser tissues such as fat and muscle. It works in depth on metabolism, circulation and fat, and is applied with massage movements.

  • Viora combines radiofrequency at three frequencies (0.8, 1.7 and 2.45 MHz, plus a mode that uses all three at once) with four levels of vacuum. The vacuum lifts the skin, increases blood flow and drainage and helps the heat penetrate further. It has handpieces for the body (cellulite and contour), for skin tightening and stretch marks, and for small or delicate areas.

  • The choice depends on the area, the type of cellulite and your skin. We explain it at your assessment, and the price is the same with either.

05

Body radiofrequency treatments

At your assessment we choose your main goal and the technology, and adapt the temperature and time to each area; we often work on several goals at once.

  • Sagging skin and firming

    Sagging skin and firming

With age, weight changes or after pregnancy, the skin loses collagen and starts to sag, especially on the arms, abdomen, inner thighs and knees. The heat tightens the collagen fibres straight away and stimulates the formation of new collagen, for gradually firmer, smoother skin.

    01
  • Cellulite

    Cellulite

Cellulite can be oedematous (with fluid retention), adipose (fat), fibrous (old and compact) or mixed. Radiofrequency boosts circulation and drainage, strengthens the dermis with collagen and helps reduce the volume of fat cells, so orange-peel skin looks smoother.

    02
  • Localised fat and contour

    Localised fat and contour

On stubborn deposits on the abdomen, flanks, hips, saddlebags, buttocks, arms or back, the deep heat activates metabolism and lipolysis, the process by which the body uses stored fat. According to Indiba, it also acts on preadipocytes, the cells that can turn into fat, reducing their size. It helps redefine the contour; it is not a weight-loss treatment.

    03
  • Stretch marks and skin texture

    Stretch marks and skin texture

On stretch marks and on dull or dehydrated skin, radiofrequency stimulates the fibroblasts, improves hydration and elasticity and softens the marks. Recent, still reddish stretch marks usually respond better than old, white ones.

    04
  • After pregnancy or liposuction

    After pregnancy or liposuction

After pregnancy it helps restore firmness to the tummy and thighs. After liposuction, Indiba is used, with the surgeon's approval, to reduce swelling and support recovery, and later to improve skin firmness and fibrosis.

How is it done?

We apply a conductive cream and glide the electrode or handpiece over the area, controlling the temperature at all times.

  1. Initial assessment — Body Radiofrequency

    Initial assessment

We look at the area, the type of cellulite, any sagging and your health history to rule out contraindications, and choose Indiba or Viora. If you like, we take measurements and photos to follow your progress.

  2. Procedure — Body Radiofrequency

    Procedure

The session lasts 30 to 50 minutes depending on the areas. You will feel an intense but pleasant warmth, which we adjust to what feels comfortable; with Viora, also a gentle suction.

  3. Recovery — Body Radiofrequency

    Recovery

No rest is needed. The skin may stay pink and warm for a while. Drink water to help drainage and, if a lot of heat was used, avoid strong sun and intense exercise that day.

  4. Results — Body Radiofrequency

    Results

The skin feels smoother and softer from the first sessions; firmness, cellulite and contour improve gradually, because new collagen takes weeks to form.

07

Sessions, duration and maintenance

It is a cumulative treatment: each session builds on the previous one. We set the exact number at your assessment, depending on the area and your goal.

  • Duration: 30 to 50 minutes per session, depending on the areas

  • Usual programme: around 10 sessions, normally 1 or 2 a week

  • 10-session package per area: abdomen, buttocks or waist; arms or flanks; legs

  • Maintenance: regular sessions, for example once a month, to prolong the results

  • Best results with a balanced diet, physical activity and good hydration

08

Who is it for, and when is it not recommended?

Body radiofrequency is suitable for women and men with sagging skin, cellulite, localised fat or stretch marks, and for all skin types. According to Indiba, it is not performed in the first three cases, and in the others we assess it with you first:

  • Pacemaker or other electronic implants

  • Pregnancy

  • Thrombophlebitis

  • Infection or wound in the area: that area is not treated

  • Cancer: with an active tumour, the area and its lymph nodes are not treated; during cancer treatment we check with your oncologist

  • Anticoagulant medication: ask your doctor first

  • Reduced sensation in the area: we work at lower power and keep a close eye on the skin

  • Prostheses or metal implants: according to Indiba they are not a contraindication at 448 kHz; tell us so we can choose the device

Firm up your body with no surgery and no downtime

Deep heat for firmer skin, less visible cellulite and a better-defined contour, with a plan made for you. We look forward to assessing your case at our centre in Nerja.

Your questions answered

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about this treatment, your session and body care.

Does body radiofrequency hurt?

+

No. You feel an intense but pleasant warmth, like a hot massage. We adjust the temperature at all times; if you feel any discomfort, tell us and we will turn it down.

How many sessions will I need?

+

The usual programme is around 10 sessions, 1 or 2 a week, followed by maintenance. In the cases published by Indiba, cellulite changes with 3 to 7 sessions and localised fat with 8 to 10; every body responds at its own pace and we give you your plan at the assessment.

When will I see results?

+

The skin feels smoother and softer from the first sessions. Firmness and contour improve gradually over the following weeks, because new collagen takes time to form; according to Indiba, changes in localised fat can be seen within a couple of weeks.

How long does a session last?

+

Between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on the areas we treat.

What is the difference between Indiba and Viora?

+

Indiba works at 448 kHz with capacitive and resistive modes and acts in depth on fat, circulation and metabolism. Viora combines three radiofrequency frequencies with vacuum, which lifts the skin and improves drainage and heat penetration. We choose one or the other depending on the area and your skin; the price is the same.

Does it help you lose weight?

+

It is not a weight-loss treatment. It helps mobilise localised fat and improve contour, cellulite and firmness, and works best alongside a balanced diet and exercise.

Are there any side effects?

+

It is normal for the skin to stay pink and warm for a while. On very sensitive skin or at high temperatures you may feel a brief tingling.

Can I sunbathe afterwards?

+

Unlike laser, radiofrequency does not make the skin sensitive to the sun. If the session used a lot of heat, it is best to avoid strong sun that same day.

Can I exercise afterwards?

+

Yes. If a lot of heat was used, avoid an intense workout that day.

Can I have it if I have prostheses or metal implants?

+

According to Indiba, metal prostheses and plates are not a contraindication at 448 kHz, because its radiofrequency does not heat metal. Tell us at your assessment so we can choose the device and the area.

What if I have an IUD?

+

With a copper IUD there is no problem with Indiba. With a hormonal IUD, intense and prolonged heat over the uterus should be controlled, so we adjust the temperature on the abdomen. Let us know before you start.

Can I have it during my period?

+

Yes, menstruation is not a contraindication. If you would rather not treat the abdomen on those days, we work on another area.

Can I have it after pregnancy or liposuction?

+

Yes. After pregnancy it helps restore firmness to the tummy and thighs; we start once your doctor gives the go-ahead. After liposuction, with the surgeon's approval, it helps reduce swelling and later improve skin firmness. It is not performed during pregnancy.

Can it firm the bust?

+

Yes. Radiofrequency stimulates collagen in the skin of the décolletage and bust and improves its firmness; in the cases published by Indiba, changes are seen with 5 to 10 sessions. It does not replace a surgical breast lift. According to Indiba, it can also be used if you have breast implants.

Is it also for men?

+

Yes. In men we mainly treat fat on the abdomen and flanks and loose skin on the abdomen and chest.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

+

Yes, and it usually enhances the result: LPG Body, pressotherapy, shockwave therapy or HIFEM, depending on your goal. We tell you the best order and pace.

Are there any contraindications?

+

It is not performed with a pacemaker or other electronic implants, during pregnancy or with thrombophlebitis. With an infection in the area, cancer, anticoagulants or reduced sensation, we assess it first, and if necessary with your doctor.

Looking for a medical approach?

For a double chin, localised fat or laxity, body technology can be combined with medical treatments after an assessment.
