What is Indiba Facial?
Indiba Facial is a radiofrequency treatment using Indiba® technology, from the Spanish company that has been researching and manufacturing its devices since 1983. It works at a stable frequency of 448 kHz, which gently raises the temperature of the skin from within and activates its natural regeneration mechanisms: the fibroblasts produce more collagen and elastin, circulation improves and the skin is oxygenated and hydrated.
We use both of its working modes: capacitive, for the skin and superficial tissues, and resistive, for deeper, denser tissues such as the facial muscles. According to the manufacturer, this frequency does not damage cells, so the skin needs no recovery and the treatment can be repeated throughout life.
It is a very pleasant session, with gentle warmth and massage movements over the face, neck and décolletage, with no needles and no downtime. It suits all skin types, including sensitive skin, and both women and men.

What the studies say
According to Indiba, a team at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid (Dr Úbeda) studied what happens to cells at 448 kHz: it stimulates stem cell proliferation and does not damage healthy cells. These are manufacturer's data; each person's result depends on their skin and their consistency. Depending on the temperature reached in the tissue, Indiba describes three effects:
Biostimulation (no noticeable heat): activates the cells' natural regeneration processes
Vascularisation (moderate heat): increases the supply of blood and oxygen, hydrates and helps drain eye bags and dark circles
Hyperactivation (intense heat): stimulates collagen and elastin to soften wrinkles and firm the skin

Indiba Facial or Indiba Facial Plus
We offer two versions of the treatment, with the same technology and different prices:
Indiba Facial: a session of around 60 minutes for hydration, radiance, firmness and maintenance.
Indiba Facial Plus: a longer session of around 90 minutes, with more radiofrequency time and anti-wrinkle and firming actives, for deep wrinkles or skin that needs extra firmness.

Indiba facial treatments
We adapt each session to your main goal and the areas that concern you most; we often work on several at once.
01Wrinkles and expression lines
Time, sun and pollution make the skin lose collagen and elastin. Indiba's heat tightens the fibres and stimulates the formation of new collagen, gradually softening wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the lips.
02Firmness, facial contour and double chin
When the face starts to sag, the contour loses definition and a double chin appears. The resistive mode works in depth on the denser tissues and helps firm and redefine the jawline and neck, keeping your natural expression.
03Eye area
Eye bags, dark circles, crow's feet and drooping eyelids make you look tired. Indiba activates drainage and circulation in the area, firms the eyelid and helps lift the tail of the eyebrow, using small electrodes for such delicate skin.
04Hydration and radiance
For dull, dehydrated or tired-looking skin. The increased blood flow oxygenates and hydrates the skin from within: at the end of the session it looks plumper, more even and more radiant.
05Neck and décolletage
These areas show loss of firmness early and are often forgotten. We include them in the session so the skin of the neck and décolletage improves at the same pace as the face.

How is it done?
We glide the capacitive and resistive electrodes over the skin with a conductive cream, reaching a pleasant internal warmth (around 42 °C) that stimulates the tissue without damaging it.
Initial assessment
We analyse your skin (wrinkles, firmness, hydration, sensitivity) and your health history to rule out contraindications, and choose between Indiba Facial and Indiba Facial Plus.
Procedure
We cleanse and prepare the skin and work on the face, neck and décolletage with massage movements. Indiba Facial lasts around 60 minutes; Indiba Facial Plus, around 90.
Recovery
No rest is needed. The skin may look slightly pink for a while. You can wear make-up afterwards, unless we ask you to let the applied skincare work.
Results
The skin looks brighter and more rested straight away; wrinkles and firmness improve gradually over the sessions.

Who is it for, and when is it not recommended?
Indiba Facial suits all skin types, including sensitive skin, for women and men, both to prevent and to treat the signs of ageing. According to Indiba, it is not performed in the first three cases, and in the others we assess it with you first:
Pacemaker or other electronic implants
Pregnancy
Thrombophlebitis
Infection, active cold sore or wound in the area
Cancer: during cancer treatment we check with your oncologist
Anticoagulant medication: ask your doctor first
Reduced sensation in the area: we work at lower power

Does it hurt? Will I feel heat?

It does not hurt. You feel a gentle, pleasant warmth, like a hot massage, which we adjust at all times to what feels comfortable.
How many sessions are recommended?

The usual programme is 6 sessions, once a week or every two weeks, followed by monthly maintenance. We give you your plan at the assessment.
When will I notice results?

The skin looks brighter and more rested at the end of the first session. Wrinkles and firmness improve gradually; in the cases published by Indiba, changes in wrinkles and eyelids can be seen from 1 session and in the double chin with 4.
How long does a session last?

Around 60 minutes for Indiba Facial and around 90 minutes for Indiba Facial Plus.
What is the difference between Indiba Facial and Indiba Facial Plus?

Indiba Facial Plus is longer and more complete: more radiofrequency time plus anti-wrinkle and firming actives for deeper wrinkles. That is why it is priced differently.
Is there any downtime?

No. You can go back to your routine as soon as you finish; at most, the skin stays slightly pink for a while.
Can I wear make-up afterwards?
+
Yes. Only if we apply a specific product at the end will we ask you to leave it on for a few hours.
Can I go in the sun?
+
Yes. Unlike laser, radiofrequency does not make the skin sensitive to the sun; if the session used a lot of heat, it is best to avoid strong sun that day. Use sunscreen daily to maintain the results.
Can it be combined with hyaluronic acid or other fillers?
+
Yes. According to Indiba, it can be done up to 24 hours before the filler to prepare the tissue; afterwards, depending on the product, you need to wait 2 weeks to 1 month before treating that area, and correctly applied it does not reduce the effect of the filler. We coordinate it with the doctor.
Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes. We combine it with Dermapen 4 in Renew Skin Duo, with microdermabrasion in Renew Lift and with aesthetic medicine treatments, respecting the intervals between sessions.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, it is a gentle technology and we adjust the power to your skin. There may be a slight redness that fades quickly.
Can I treat my neck and décolletage?

Yes, and we recommend it: these areas lose firmness early and respond very well to Indiba.
Is it also for men?
+
Yes. Men's thicker skin responds very well, especially for firmness of the facial contour, double chin and eye area.
Are there any side effects?

According to Indiba, at most a slight redness that fades quickly, or a brief tingling if the skin is very sensitive or the temperature is high.
Are there any contraindications?

It is not performed with a pacemaker or other electronic implants, during pregnancy or with thrombophlebitis. With an infection or cold sore in the area, cancer, anticoagulants or reduced sensation, we assess it first, and if necessary with your doctor.
