Venus Viva is a fractional radiofrequency technology with microneedles that works deep within the skin to stimulate regeneration. It generates controlled heat in the dermis, activating natural repair processes without significantly damaging the surface.

How Venus Viva works
Venus Viva is a non-surgical resurfacing treatment by Venus Concept. Its nano-fractional radiofrequency tip has tiny pins that deliver heat through the surface of the skin, creating micro-injuries that the body repairs naturally: the skin renews itself and produces new collagen. According to the brand, it achieves results similar to CO2 laser with much less discomfort and a shorter recovery, and better than superficial treatments such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion.

Sessions and aftercare
The usual course is 3 or 4 sessions per area, 4 weeks apart. Results keep improving after the last session, and a touch-up roughly every 6 months may be advisable.
Before: come with clean skin, no cream, perfume or make-up, and without having sunbathed
Afterwards: the skin is red and warm, like after sunburn; for 24 hours put nothing on the skin, not even water, and avoid sweating
After 24 hours: make-up and your usual routine, with SPF 30 or higher sunscreen
For 2 days: no intense exercise, hot baths or massage on the area, and avoid tanning

How is the treatment performed?
A treatment head with microneedles delivers fractional radiofrequency to stimulate the skin at depth.
Initial assessment
We assess the skin, the type of irregularity and the area to be treated to tailor the protocol.
Procedure
First, an anaesthetic cream is applied for a few minutes, then controlled passes are made over the skin to generate precise heat in the dermis.
Recovery
Redness and a sensation similar to the warmth of sun-exposed skin may last for a few hours or days. Do not apply cream or water to the skin for 24 hours.
Results
Skin texture and firmness improve gradually, with changes noticeable from the first few sessions.

What does the session feel like?

You feel tiny pins on the skin followed by a small zap, and heat, like sunburn. It can be a little uncomfortable but not painful; we apply anaesthetic cream for comfort.
Can I wear make-up afterwards?

Not until 24 hours have passed. After that you can wear make-up and return to your routine, always with sunscreen.
How long do the results last?

Results keep improving after the last session. According to Venus Concept, a touch-up may be needed roughly every 6 months, depending on how your skin responds.
Who cannot have it?

According to Venus Concept, it is not performed with a pacemaker or other electrical implant, implants or injected substances near the area, cancer (including pre-malignant moles), pregnancy, IVF or breastfeeding, immune system problems, cold sores in the area, poorly controlled diabetes, anticoagulants, tattoos or permanent make-up in the area, or very tanned skin. Nor after a facelift, eyelid surgery, another resurfacing treatment or a chemical peel in the last 3 months, cosmetic injections in the last 2 weeks, surgery in the last 6 months, or anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen in the previous week.
