Eyebrow micropigmentation: techniques, how long it lasts and aftercare

Waking up with your brows done, filling in gaps or getting back brows that thinned over the years: eyebrow micropigmentation is one of the beauty treatments that changes your expression most, with a natural result when it is well designed.

Micropigmentation and microblading: the differences

• Microblading is done by hand with a small blade and places the pigment in a more superficial layer.
• Micropigmentation is done with a digital device, is more versatile (hair strokes, powder or combined) and usually lasts longer, especially on oily skin.

Techniques

• Hair strokes: fine strokes that imitate hairs. Ideal if you have brows with gaps.
• Powder brows: add density and a soft, made-up finish.
• Combined: hair strokes at the front and shading towards the tail, for a natural yet defined result.

The session

The session lasts 60 to 90 minutes. First we design the shape on your face and adjust it with you before starting; the pigment is chosen to match your skin and hair tone. We apply a topical anaesthetic, so it is comfortable. A few weeks later there is a touch-up to perfect the result.

How long it lasts

Between 1 and 2 years, depending on your skin, the technique and aftercare. Sun and exfoliating products fade it sooner. We recommend maintenance every 12 to 18 months to keep the colour and shape.

Aftercare

For about 10 days: do not soak the area, avoid sun, pools and saunas, do not apply make-up to the brows and do not pick the scabs. After that, use sunscreen on the area so the colour lasts longer.
